Project Accountant

The Project Accountant is a critical role focused on managing all the financial information related to our client projects. This is a full-time position based in our Emeryville, CA office where dogs run free and the string-cheese is available 24/7. 

Primary Responsibilities

• Manages project-related records (e.g., MSAs, NDAs, client billing information/W-9) for all new clients and vendors
• Sets up financial information for client and project in NetSuite (accounting system)
• Ensures that project billings are issued to clients and payments are collected on time and accurately
• Keeps track of each project's expenses, investigates variances, and provides regular reports on whether the project is over or under budget
• Closes out project accounts upon project completion

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of NetSuite a plus.
• Proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with a high attention to detail
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Language Skills

Can read and interpret industry-specific materials, write business correspondence, and summarize data in a clear, concise fashion. Can effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from co-workers, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability

Is able to generate position-specific documents with accuracy and according to schedule, and can interpret a variety of instructions furnished in a written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.

Mathematical Skills

Is able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and can clearly communicate financial and other quantitative data through tables, charts, and graphs.
